Chiba's character is one that grows.

Not so much in terms of depth, but through the parts I have come to find him funnier. There are some nice scenes throughout the film, especially the scene in the cremator.

Chiba certainly has technique, he clearly shows, but his style is really lousy. He is therefore good as a fodder-rushing madman, but when there is a real fight to be had (like in the final) it is all a lot less.

Another boring video unfortunately. Ugly-looking and not very interesting, even considering its playing time. A few cool scenes and Chiba provide an entertaining 1.5*

Nice and entertaining matrial art but in my opinion there are better ones on the market than Chiba, sometimes reacts much too slow in fighting but does have nice ways of winding up

Quite a bit of story for its film and that does not benefit most spectacle films, especially when it is as thin and bland as here and so this film remains a reasonable karate film, but no more than that.

***

He's just a bad motherf**ker, he gets paid by people to f**k guys up.... that's how Slater describes Chiba's character in True Romance... And that also applies here although this one is less good than the two previous Streetfighter films. Tsurugi is back in a not-so-interesting mafia story centered around a tape. The sadistic violence also takes a step back here. Sometimes a hard scene, such as an enemy being burned alive in a crematorium oven. Yes, more story as others also indicate, but this third part feels superfluous.
