Slightly better second part, which jokes through a few mistakes, an atmosphere that looks a bit more like a comic book adaptation, and once released that Hasbro has completely separated the film series from the 70s and 80s toys, is little more than a bad blockbuster is, but is slightly better to digest than part 1.

Villains rising from the dead, evil conspiracies that threaten world peace, stoic heroes and lots of weapon clatter...not much news at first sight. Yet it is all a bit less over the top than part 1 and especially the grimacing villains are an improvement. For a moment the heart beats faster at the sight of certain weapons in Storm Shadow and the uzi and buggy in the case of Snake Eyes, namely very recognizable. The landmarks quickly stop there, but that doesn't matter much anymore.

Bottom line, still not my cup of tea, but slightly better than the first film.

Mediocre film about a group of elite soldiers who are cheated during a mission. The characters and the thin story are barely captivating. The film could have sailed a little better with a little more humor. The film should then be further from the action. And in that respect, the finale and the scene on the mountain are still worthwhile.

“Real American Hero” Duke Hauser [Channing Tatum] leads a unit of GIs in a race against time with Cobra Commander's henchmen for - what else - nuclear weapons. To satisfy the Asian market, North Korea comes into play and Lee Byung-hun has a supporting role as a conscientious Cobra member. The fight scenes are contrived, but well done and a metropolis is reduced to rubble. Long live the fun! Jonathan Pryce is way too good for this kind of pulp stuff.
