Very nice sequel to part 1, I even liked it a bit better.

Back then, a new one with Eddy Murphy was always something we looked forward to and this second Beverly Hills Cop lived up to all expectations:

More Axl Foley that made us laugh, more of the funny duo Taggart and Rosewood, more action and more good music in between.

I still have that feeling when I look back on them all years later.

A film that for me is inextricably linked to the blockbusters from the 80s and that gets half a star more than part 1.

4 stars

Seen this second part for the first time after reviewing the first part. This film largely continues in the same vein, a large part of the cast has remained intact and Murphy once again plays the lead role.

No doubt thanks to the great success of the first part, little has changed, but this is very much the same sheet and suit. Of course now some other villains who are just as stupid and retarded as in the previous part, but otherwise it seems like a copy.

Judge Reinhold and John Ashton as supporting actors next to Murphy have a somewhat bigger role and that works out positively. They don't have a shred of acting talent, but somehow their sheer stupidity is pretty funny too.

The script isn't worth mentioning, it's again entertaining stuff that you don't have to look at too critically, then it's perfectly manageable.

3*
