The Ice Road plot
"This mission is on thin ice."
When a diamond mine collapses in northern Canada, a rescue operation is launched to help the trapped miners. Goldenrod is the owner of a transport company that hires the driver Mike. Together they undertake the perilous mission of taking on nature.

What an unprecedented mountain of bullshit. Now I knew nothing about the so-called ice roads, and this setting provided beautiful images. But all the positives have been said with that. Because even for fans of standard action licks, who take the piles of nonsense for granted, there is hardly anything to enjoy. Since the action is also very clumsy and the sentiment is laughable. And let's not talk about the milked-out characters please.
The greatest achievement of this dragon of a film is that even Neeson really does not convince for a second.

Great movie. Neeson gets a day older and that many running, jumping, falling and getting up again will be a bit more difficult. But in this film, Neeson just rips across the ice with tough trucks. No punishment to watch.
Great entertainment, and maybe even a calling card to become a truck driver.

Liam Neeson, the man of the brilliant Taken, you don't expect much from that in 2022. In this film, fortunately, for once he is not a former secret agent or similar excuse to fight and shoot, but a grumbling trucker. He tries to take the best possible care of his brother, who has suffered a brain injury and therefore finds it difficult to keep a job. When they are given a lucrative assignment to transport equipment as quickly as possible to rescue miners, he gladly accepts the challenge.
What follows is a film that hangs together from mediocre to bad CGI explosions and other violence, but is saved somewhat by a small intrigue with a plot twist.
But above all, The Ice Road is a glorified commercial for Kenworth trucks. There is always a Kenworth logo in the picture somewhere. The trucks are so beautifully polished that they shine even more than Thomas Berge's teeth. And though they have a hard time, the trucks just keep going, and going, and going. If one gets unlucky, this is even called by a character completely impossible because Kenworth trucks never break, especially when they are so new.
If you like the movie Convoy, then this is definitely a must. Other than that, it has little to do with it.
