"Don't look down"
Ex-serviceman Will Sawyer is responsible for security in a skyscraper in China. During an assignment, a floor suddenly bursts into flames, for which he is blamed. He goes on the run as he tries to prove his innocence and searches for the culprit. In addition, he must do everything in his power to free his family trapped in the burning building.

The previous film I saw with Dwayne Johnson was San Andreas, not a high-flyer but still quite entertaining. Especially because of the spectacular images of the various earthquakes and resulting disasters.
In that respect, Skyscraper is still a step back. An incredible and quickly unenthralling story plus the fact that of all the so-called action heroes we've had in recent decades (Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Statham, Seagal to name a few ) Johnson is one of the weakest I think. The man is (usually) a very mediocre actor and has little charisma in my opinion.
The action in Skyscraper was still decent at times and the presence of Neve Campbell was also quite refreshing, but for the rest it was all so predictable and chewed up that I forgot most of it about an hour after the movie.
A very mediocre piece of cinema, even in its genre.

Shameless entertainment, you almost trip over the improbabilities, but it tasted good
nice. It also looked nice, the tower itself, later the fire, some action scenes and me
also starting to have a soft spot for Dwayne Johnson not necessarily because of his
limited acting ability but more like an action actor and who in other movies also quite the humor
can handle. With a lot of action, the film offers only superficial entertainment, as the film also obviously does
is intended, but if you take everything with a grain of salt, you will experience more than one and a half hours of pleasant viewing pleasure.

If there's nothing else to see, there's always going to be a really bad Dwayne Johnson movie.
Anyway, I went back and looked....
Poorly emotionless acting and very unrealistic.
Of course I could have already seen it on the movie poster, hanging by his fingertips far above the ground....
This man climbs skyscrapers with a piece of rope and a roll of duck tape, can climb 200 meter high cranes with a "wood leg" and jump meters through the air, control heavy walkways with his arms and is always lucky that large height is no wind.
Totally unnecessary that he has a "disability" and a son, without this information the film is exactly the same.
The "crooks" have a special someone to work with a computer system, but his wife (who suddenly also masters martial arts) knows how to arrange everything with a few actions.
For me this was the only nice part in the film: "Oh yeah that's Neve Campbell" and then on again.....
Do you hope for mindless action, is it a great film, do you hope for a somewhat realistic and exciting story then I would really skip this one.
Why Dwayne Johnson makes so much money, plays in so many movies and keeps on giving such bad performances is really a mystery to me, but that will probably really be just me. Apparently there is a large audience for it.
