I think this is one of the funniest and best animations of recent years!
the dr. Seuss filming curse seems finally broken here. Of course The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T. (1953) An interesting attempt to say the least.
But this one is fun, although the animation differs from the books, elements are still nicely processed.
Fortunately, the story has also kept its nice contrarian message and is full of bells, fluff and the animation of that vulture Vlad (not to be confused with the bunny that bakes cookies) quite ingenious.
Piece of manga still incorporated and a few nice references (Apocalypse Now!).
This team will soon be able to focus on the very best Seuss (and book-to-live-by since 1976): You're Not Yet in Nobody's Sorrow.
My Monday can't go wrong!!

Horton Hears a Who! is a successful Dr. Seuss creation because various characteristic themes have been worked out surprisingly nicely. Universal values between place and man is one of them and the film remains very faithful to them. It often creates hilarious moments where Horton definitely steals the show. The animation is beautiful and the music by John Powell fits in well with it.

Movies where the title refers to a Dr. Seus's story is disappointing. The Grinch, The Lorax, Cat in the Hat.....all over the top animation often, with bizarre storylines that are just too difficult for children to follow and too eccentric for adults to appeal. This Horton is no exception to that rule either, although due to the excellent animation and the strong voice cast (Carrey goes wild again and Carell does well too) this is a bit better than the aforementioned failed films. However, now I'm determined to pass up the next film about this doctor, having given up hope that this will ever become a thing again.
