"Four men stalking the Apache nation...on a mission that could drench the whole Southwest in blood and flames!"
Four men drive through the Texas desert after the Civil War in search of stolen army weapons. They are constantly attacked by bandits and Indians. They continue their quest, which leads them to a general with great ambitions. Thanks in part to the arsenal of weapons, the man wants to set up and, of course, also lead a new capital of the Southern states.

An unofficial remake of The Comancheros, this well-cast western proves you don't always have to reinvent the wheel. The film is set during the Restoration, a few years after the Civil War, when profiteers made big bucks by supplying Indians with guns. Here Captain Haven [Stuart Whitman], with the help of Sergeant Franklyn [Jim Brown], tries to stop a former Rebel colonel [Warner Anderson] from delivering stolen weapons to a Native American tribe. They enlist the help of Major James Lassiter [Richard Boone], whose tactical insights often clash with those of his superior.
Smooth western with some well executed action sequences, especially the impressive finale. Boone is perfect and his character contrasts effectively with the somewhat timid Whitman and the taciturn but imposing Brown (in his film debut). Not a masterpiece, but a well-filmed and entertaining western.
