Shiroi Hada to Kiiroi Taichô plot

During the Second World War, the Japanese camp commander Yamaji Tadashi runs the internment camp for women and children, Kampili, with infinite patience and a great deal of humanity. He is besieged by the prisoners, but bravely manages to stay out of the arms of the desirable white ladies, who would do anything for an extra plate of rice. One of the women pulls out a knife, but he manages to exorcise her with a smile. During the trial in Makassar, Sergeant Yamaji is acquitted, to the acclaim of the women.
