Great film that can compete with the American block busters in this genre. I would call this the European 'Silence of the Lambs'. Despite the Swedish crispbread that sometimes makes me a bit tired.

The film has several storylines around a journalist, a problematically traumatized girl who can now take care of herself (with pretty hard revenge actions against men who sew her an ear) and a serial killer from a well-to-do family who lives under the radar for years.

The film is perfectly put together in terms of structure, atmosphere and visualization. It's actually several stories intertwined. The serial killer who seemed to go unnoticed, the troubled girl's quest for survival and the journalist who got into trouble by a corrupt businessman.

I recently re-watched the film and it continues to fascinate and of all the book/thriller film adaptations I think this is one of the better films worldwide.

A 3 hour (divided over 2 parts) long top film, which excels in all areas. Once again thoroughly enjoyed Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth and Michael Nyqvist as Mikael in their sublime quest. This one stands out compared to the American version. It's on 9/10, I'm slightly excited to make it a 10.

Just like the books ignored for a long time because the popularity around Millennium seemed too much hype to me, just like the The Davinci Code circus. The films reminded me more of a miniseries, and let me not be such a series viewer now. But I was quite mistaken about that film and book...

The film does not feel very accessible at first with the many characters that pass in review, three different storylines. The Wennerstrom case actually seems irrelevant at all and doesn't interest me. It only becomes a lot more interesting when Blomqvist starts working for Vanger, where it remains to be seen as to the line that will be followed with Salander. A line that, given its background and experiences, is almost more interesting than the Vanger case. Brutal is the situation with Bjurman, rightly and precious the revenge. However, it is only after the collaboration between Salander and Blomqvist that the scope of the Vanger case shows its true scope and also the dangers associated with it.

The film, which had been raw up to that point, then takes on a very sinister and dark atmosphere, and the matter seems more complicated and complex than previously thought. Blomqvist continues to search and unravel the riddle in a fascinating way and the denouement does not come to the end, after which another rabbit emerges from the hat. The plot may therefore be called grand and comprehensive and a fascinating piece of art by Larsson, but his books are followed practically to the letter.

As mentioned, the atmosphere is great in cold Sweden, the acting performances of Rapace in particular are excellent as the little thunderstone Salander who can't be caught for a hole, and it turns out that people in Scandinavia also understand more than the art a more than captivating thriller.

A crime/psycho thriller based on an adaptation of a novel that the director does well in this difficult film. This film is one of the films of recent years, after which two films were made in the continuation of this film. This movie has received a lot of attention and is suitable for those interested in the psychology of cinema. The soundtrack tries to create an atmosphere of dread and although it succeeds in this, the soundtrack seems to be overdone.
