They have to tell the club entertainer that her husband has been murdered. Together with the brother of the deceased, she wants to find the perpetrators. His last letter to his brother was written on the stationery of a friend, an influential businessman in Trinidad.

Solid film noir with an average story. The film is of course about the comeback of Rita Hayworth. However, the years of more or less forced interruption of her career due to her turbulent marriage to Prince Ali Khan did not do her any good. She still looks pin-up of course, but the shine from before that wedding has worn off a little bit. At that time, they knew how a film like this “should” end.

Nice spy story in which Ford gets to have an affair with Hayworth again.
Rita Hayworth is not such a seductive femme fatale here as in Gilda, but she is of course still a sight to behold.
The spy plot is nice and interesting enough, but the romance between Hayworth and Ford is a bit weakly developed and doesn't get enough time.
