After a big screen review my score increased to the maximum and given a third spot in my top 10. I'm always a bit frugal with the maximum score, because I often doubt whether a revision will have the same effect, but in this case it certainly did, maybe even more than the first time. A great cast, outstanding. Catherine (Brooke Smith) remains the weakest link in the film for me. This time, however, I was prepared for that, which made it a little less bad.

A film that lasts two hours, but which you really feel like you can get through in no time. Whatever Zwolle84 says: everything is just right about this film. This makes it very easy to look away and you will continue to watch the entire film with interest. I also hadn't noticed the music before, but that is probably also due to the viewing in the cinema that it has a little more emphasis.

Time for a review of this classic. A film that mainly focuses on the story. It's not always visually exciting. Although there are occasionally interesting shots. The assets of this film are the two protagonists. Striking, because in itself the film does not really revolve around Hannibal himself. The combination of the strong Anthony Hopkins and the profiling of his character make Hannibal a feared killer. The fear of the agents for the man, the measures that are taken, the effect if you even mention his name... It is reminiscent of Jaws or Alien, where you achieve more with the illusion and the atmosphere around the 'killer' than by portraying harsh horror all the time. If something does happen, it will have even more effect.

Jodie Foster also does well and her interaction with Hopkins makes for beautiful scenes. Unfortunately, she is portrayed as someone who survives in a very sexist environment. Not only her environment, but she is also portrayed as a woman who is smaller than her peers, gets emotional quickly or is the first to get in trouble when she sees blood. Her ideas are somewhat ignored and despite her education and experience she is always seen as a rookie. An agent in these circumstances would no longer be able to be in a film in 2019. On the other hand, you can't completely judge a 28-year-old film on that.

The silence of the lambs is a film that does not immediately want to be visual or innovative, but does come with craftsmanship in terms of story and acting. Hollywood by the book, but very well done.

Classic Silence Of The Lambs has become the blueprint for serial killer movies, and for good reason.

The story is exciting and gripping, with a reasonable pace it always manages to keep my attention.

I still think the best thing about the film is the acting, Foster and Hopkins have good chemistry and also individually interesting characters. Hannibal in particular is one that stays with you, and as mentioned before, it is mainly the mythology surrounding it that makes him extra fascinating.

That is also what the film should be about, because in terms of film style, a nice soundtrack here and there, not too much attention was paid to it, I got the idea.

A timeless thriller nonetheless, and Hannibal remains one of my favorite movie characters ever. 4.0!
