No, the humor didn't appeal to me. I haven't really messed up anywhere. What I did find quite funny were the scenes between father and sons: "Come on, girls". The characters also had no depth so I couldn't really empathize with them. That is also the reason why the romantic could not fascinate me so much.

Similar in theme and story to, but flatter than 'The Brothers McMullen'. Tom Petty's CD/OST has found a place in my record collection!

It is indeed more soap TV than big screen drama... but well made. Ed Burns, we actually hear too little of it. Funny how Cameron Diaz practically still has baby fat here, and Jennifer Anniston doesn't seem to have changed much in 20 years. Mike McGlone, as far as I'm concerned, goes away with the best interpretation, because he plays Burns's pretty screwed-up brother very well.
