Nice road movie. I went into it blank, didn't know it was about 'El Che', and that's not necessary and is hardly relevant for the film. The beginning took some getting used to the style, which does not make it easy for the viewer. In a modest and documentary-like way, we watch the journey that the two main characters make through South America. The film looks realistic and intimate, perhaps also because the typical Hollywood sentiment is very clearly omitted here, there is little theatrical to this film. For example, when his girlfriend breaks up, you don't see emotional outbursts, etc., but a quiet and resigned Gevara who reads her suicide note, and the film continues without paying any attention to it. Once I arrived in the leprosy camp, I did find that that style was released quite abruptly.

I do believe that this journey has shaped Gevara, the many small (and not so small) suffering he encounters on his path has clearly made him think. How he subsequently changed into a gerilla leader seems to me to be a different story, we cannot conclude that from this film. The Gevara at the end of this film is a socially compassionate person eager to do something and not a trigger-happy riot fighter.

With such beautiful landscapes, the film is cinematographically successful, and the music that can be heard always seems to come from the region where they are located.

A successful, modest and quiet road movie, more than 3.5*.

The film deals exactly with the point of departure of "Ernesto Che Guevara". This biography / road movie can be called a quasi-documentary. The journey of two friends and two lives with common dreams in Latin America and the film shows a real picture of these lands.

The film becomes very deep and powerful in the second half and tends more towards the documentary structure. In one of the dialogues at the beginning of the movie, Ernesto's friend says that if there is no motorcycle, we should go on foot. Ernesto says better because then we see better and more people. Right from the middle of the movie, when the motorcycle is no longer useful due to its problems and being scrap, and they continue on foot, it becomes a journey to the depth of belief and changes both friends. The film follows life during the journey. And in the hands and curved lines of people's faces, there is a longing for life. The credits at the end of the movie are wonderful.
