Jordan Peele has teased that his next movie might be the favourite of his career so far.
He has written and directed three movie projects in his career so far - Get Out, Us and Nope, with the last one being released in August of 2022.
Peele has received critical acclaim for his work so far. Get Out was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director and he won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
Not a lot is known about his next project, be he teased on Conan O'Brien's podcast:
"This has been... obviously, it's been an interesting year because the writer's strike had had me in a state of listening, and that's where I need to be.
"I do feel like my next project is very clear to me, and I'm psyched that I have another film that, you know, could be my favourite movie if I make it right."
Peele won't work on franchise projects
Peele enjoys creative control over all his projects as he writes, produces and directs them all, which is why we won't see him taking on a franchise project anytime soon.
"Nothing is more rewarding than being able to lead the charge on something that comes from somewhere deep and to get the support of a team on something like that," he explained.
"I feel like if I were working off of someone else's property, I would owe something to someone else. Besides that core piece of inspiration, it just doesn't seem as fun to me... When faced with my very favourite properties, it still doesn't beat the thing I haven't written yet or the thing I haven't figured out."
