De Bende van Jan de Lichte plot
In 18th-century Flanders, the people are poor and oppressed by yet another occupier. The highwayman Jan de Lichte and his accomplices form a band of robbers, which plunders a bloody trail through Flanders. They raid stagecoaches and castles and divide their loot among the poor. In this way Jan de Lichte grows into a hero against will and thanks.

Certainly not due to the actors, some of whom do well, but the script is already too poor.
Was never really touched by the event.
A certain unnaturalness hangs over the whole thing, I would have liked a deeper picture of the gang in its daily existence and to my regret there were hardly any moments that could have lifted the series to a higher level.

Nice time frame, great characters in the end. Takes some time to get going, but then entertains and intrigues fine, without going too deep or surprising. It probably won't happen, but hopefully more period pieces like this will follow from Flanders and the Netherlands. Anyway, I have a soft spot for it.
