Ballers plot

'Ballers' revolves around the lives of a group of football players, both past glories and current heroes. Dwayne Johnson plays Spencer Strasmore, a retired player. Other characters in the series include Charles, a lovable ex-pro looking for a new career; Ricky, a sportsman who is as passionate as he is spiritual; Joe, a financial advisor who struggles to fit in; Jason, a sports impresario who moves in the highest circles; Vernon, a player who cares deeply about his family; Julie, the wife of an ex-athlete; Stephanie Michaels, an ESPN reporter who has a romance with Spencer; and Tina, the widow of one of Spencer's closest friends.
