According to many, this season would be the turning point of the series, so I was extra curious about this. It does indeed start promisingly with Walt refusing to leave his house and Hank getting eerily close to the reveal on a number of occasions. The last two episodes also indicate that another one is on the way.

There are several moments in the season that I thought were strong, but I have to say that I'm still not quite a fan. The series is at times quite tedious in my opinion. I've also had a few times that just in time, just when I'm about to drop out, an interesting plot twist comes up that once again ensures that my attention is fully focused again. It's nice that the series has such strong twists, but the moments are often long in coming. It would be more ideal if I would also experience subcutaneous tension more often in between, but that is not the case for the time being.

I don't notice much of the ever increasing trend that the series would go through, but I do find it entertaining to watch. It makes a difference that the series continues to radiate class in the acting, so that it all remains solid, even if it is slightly less exciting. The series is clearly at its best when Walter and Jesse are together. Incidentally, I also thought Jesse's monologue in episode 7 was one of the highlights of this season. Superb scene

3.5*

Fantastic. Possibly the best season. Enjoy all the colorful characters. The neat but increasingly creepy Gus. His stoic handyman, dry ass Mike. The seedy, deliciously bad lawyer Saul Goodman with invariably the funniest lyrics. The deadly and taciturn sons of Hector Salamanca. An incredibly good, blood-curdling scene in which the two confront Hank, who is already increasingly under stress. Great acting from all these great guys too.

And you know that Gus has no reason to let Walt live after his big job, yet it's never spoken until the end of the season, when the tension hits a peak. The problem of money laundering is also discussed. It remains an intelligent series. There are no easy roads for those involved in organized crime. You can be as smart as Walter, it's all twisted link.

In this third season again a lot of action, conflicts between the various characters and an interesting development of the storyline. The Mexican drug salesman Tuco has now been replaced by his two nephews who are out for revenge. The nice thing is that no character is completely clean on the spine. They almost all have a good and bad side. Walter the doting father who produces meth, his wife who cheats on him and has him evicted from his own home but won't tell his kids their father is a criminal, Hank the merry cop who doesn't care about legal procedures , his wife (who apparently loves the color purple) stands by her husband through thick and thin but is a shoplifter herself, etc. Jesse is becoming more and more of an annoying boy, but his new rehabilitative love interest Andrea [spoiler ] (which, like Jane, he wants to make addicted again) is a pleasant addition but only gets a smaller role.
