I'm rewatching the first season now that the second season is out. Here you can see the superhero growing up from an early age. The beautiful Alisha Wainwright plays a fine role as Dion's single mother. Dion has lost his father and is eager to be one of the popular boys at his new school. Meanwhile, he finds out that he has powers and his impatient behavior leads to special situations - out of frustration from his mother.

David Aaronson calls it blaxploitation, but it is far from the meaning of the word. It also has nothing to do with inclusivity, hence the comic books.

There are some really nice feel good scenes in it like the Janis Joplin scene at the beginning of episode 7 (?) and Nicole's kitchen dance scene in episode 8. Surprisingly fun for a mediocre!
