Ratched plot
Ratched is a prequel series to One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest and tells the story of Mildred Ratched who arrives in Northern California in 1947. She looks for work at a well-known psychiatric hospital where strange experiments have just begun on the human brain. She starts out as a promising nurse but slowly turns into a monster for her patients.

Great series. The atmosphere is really beautiful. Wonderful to look back at this time. The series starts off strong, but as the end comes in sight, things get a little out of hand. Not all episodes are equally interesting, especially in the middle part.
Acting is very strong. Pace is slow, but there's enough happening to keep your attention.

Interesting series, I particularly like the stylization. The play with light and colors is sometimes very nice to see and the decoration is impeccable. In any case, the acting in this series is fine, but the main character in particular is portrayed very strongly by Paulson, who knows how to use a wide spectrum of emotions: strict, charismatic and vulnerable, and the variation of those emotions comes across naturally. Although this is supposed to be a prequel, her role has little to do with the original character from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. As far as I'm concerned, it wouldn't have mattered if she had been given a completely different name, because the series is exciting enough on its own. 3*.
