Loosely based on the Dutroux affair. For lovers of Scandinavian crime series, but from Wallonia this time.
Sublime acting by Angelo Bison, who, with few gimmicks and fuss, still shows all kinds of things in his facial expressions, one moment innocence itself the next the calculating child murderer. Scary too, sometimes.
Superb music at the end of 2 episodes: Miserere by Allegri and Pavane by Gabriel Fauré. Goosebumps!
Ok, the series occasionally has its cliché moments: at the end of course there is the inevitable confrontation in a remote house in the woods and at the supreme moment we hear the sirens in the distance, while the plot is just a bit too much resembles The Silence of the Lambs: the convicted murderer who is asked for help in finding another murderer.
Moreover, the police investigation is going very smoothly and they found that one guy very smoothly. Are they in a square, where that guy has been seen, she looks around, looking for clues, then her gaze lingers at a bus stop where some people are standing, then you can see her thinking: maybe he has the bus got caught... and yes, a few scenes later they have CCTV of the wanted man getting on the bus, they know where he got off and where he lives haha...
It is also quite a coincidence that she hears that sound in that house.

Belgium doesn't have many good series, and certainly not Flanders, but I think this series, which is somewhat based on the horrible Dutroux affair, is very good. As a Belgian, this brings back many horrible things....
