The Nanny plot

Fran Fine works at her boyfriend Danny's bridal shop. In fact, she is waiting for him to propose to her. Instead, he not only dumps her, but immediately fires her from his shop. Fran therefore picks up her old job again and goes door-to-door with make-up to earn money. When she knocks on the door of Maxwell Sheffield, a wealthy Broadway musical producer, the butler mistakes Niles Fran for an applicant for the babysitter job and brings her in. Fran barely has time to argue with him and before she knows it, she moves into the house as the new nanny.
