Russian Doll plot

Russian Doll follows a young woman named Nadia who is invited to a party as a guest of honor one night in New York City. It soon turns out that it is a seemingly inescapable feast. Nadia never wakes up in the morning and never ends up in bed. In fact, she never comes home from the party. Instead, she dies, always hilariously and bizarrely.

No, I didn't feel it, I didn't have to laugh much, I wasn't really surprised. The lead actress does play well again (perhaps the best character from OITNB for me) but all in all I thought she was very thin.

Nicely peculiar series with a lot of cynicism and rudeness. You also have to have a bit of open mind, given the premise of the time loop. And that is certainly not new and original, but how it is worked out is.

There is certainly some drama poured over it, but the way it is played doesn't really get in the way. Except for episode 7, what an abomination that was, then it got a bit too serious and moralistic. Fortunately, that is not completely continued in the last episode, although there is of course something to give. Towards the end the emphasis is a bit more on the sci-fi and 'scientific explanations'.
