Catweazle plot

Catweazle tells the story of the 11th-century, eccentric, incapable, smelly but above all touching wizard Catweazle. On the run from the Normans, a failed spell (he tries to fly, but it turns out very differently) ends up in England in the second half of the sixties: he has traveled through time for 900 years.

Leuke serie , de acteur die de tovenaar speelt doet dat geweldig en de jongen waarmee hij bevriend raakt speelt het ook heel goed . De rest van de cast krijgt ook voldoende speelruimte . Verder blijft het natuurlijk een duidelijke serie voor de jeugd , luchtig en met leuke orginele humor . Een terugkerende gimmick blijft het gegeven dat Catweazle in alle moderne techniek magie ziet . Men gaat nooit de wat serieuzere kant op om hem te onderwijzen hoe het hier werkt , dat zou natuurijk de humor mogelijkheden torpederen . De serie eindigt helaas wat open maar dat is ook weer niet zo storend . een 3e sezoen had makkelijk mogelijk geweest maar het mocht niet zo zijn blijkbaar .

Nice series , the actor who plays the wizard does a great job and the boy he befriends plays it very well too .

The rest of the cast also gets plenty of leeway.

Furthermore , of course , it remains a clear series for the youth , lighthearted and with fun original humor .

A recurring gimmick remains the fact that Catweazle sees magic in all modern technology.

One never goes the more serious way to teach him how it works here, that would of course torpedo the humor possibilities.

Unfortunately the series ends a bit open , but that is not too disturbing .

a 3rd season would have been easily possible but apparently it was not to be.
