Agreed. England Made Me is a great debut, but for my money is a bit uneven, where later albums are more consistent, like as a band, BBR figured out what they were doing. Maybe they play differently for audiences who are actually UK-based? I'm American, so while I do get some of the cultural and socio-political commentary about UK life, I'm sure there are subtle lyrical references and in-jokes I miss that make England Made Me more biting and fun.
