I was thinking about this, and I reckon this is one of the most left field experimental albums by a popular artist in recent memory. Yeah, it's still dance pop/rnb but the touches of production by 0PN and the theme of being being in limbo while waiting in traffic give it an other worldly feel. Like it's a pop album from an alternative timeline

For some reason, this album pretty much came and went. I own all of his other albums (including Hurry Up Tomorrow, which I just received and now blasting), but this one just slipped by back in 2022.

4 years later, it finally clicked. My favorite The Weeknd album by far. (not to dismiss his quite great work up to this point)

I remember branding it "the most disappointing album I've ever heard" when it first graced, dismissing it for a year or perhaps two. Yet, in these past months, I've found myself ensnared by it, obsessed with almost every track (I don't get Best Friends at all). I harbor no regret for my harsh words then—they were honest, a reflection of a taste that danced to different genres in that moment. Now, it stands as my second favorite of his works, just behind Kiss Land. This, I believe, is the true essence of a slow-blooming masterpiece.

he basically cancelled the promotion for this album. it had one real single and that was about it... its sad but this was an album for the fans. Kiss Land 2 he called it so it'll stay underrated forever

im not a stuck up for streaming numbers but its insane how not a single song here has hit 1b listens on spotify yet lol, probably bc of lack of promotion

It's SO good, like we got JIM CARREY narrating an album about the afterlife which is back to back to back bangers EVERYWHERE. It flows so well additionally, see for reference the transition from How do I make you love me to Take my breath (where the album version is like a million times better than the single version, no business going that hard)

this grew on me a lot over these 2 years, maybe even to the point where id say dawnfm>ah. after hours definitely has more hits and better highs than this album, but as an overall album experience i think dawn fm takes the cake.
