Intro is good, chorus is good, riffs are cool. But the fucking terrible David Draiman style clean vocals kill it. Too bad Heafy never bounced back after that failed experiment.

Well, assuming you're referencing The Crusade which was released in 2006, I do agree that it pales in comparison to Ascendancy & Shogun, but I still feel it's an underrated album. I think their weakest album to date is Vengeance Falls, but it still has a few good songs on it. But this new album has some great songs like this one, so I disagree that they should stop. Actually, they should never stop as they're one of my favorite bands. I saw them live last year & they kicked ass, plus I'm gonna see them again next Friday night. You're entitled to your opinion, but I respectfully disagree.

You're absolutely right, his kind of thinking is toxic in my opinion. Even the stuff I think is garbage still has a right to exist. The Crusade was extremely underrated, it is actually my second favorite of theirs. This looks like it might tie that though. I loved the more pure thrash sound of that album. Vengeance I think is also their weakest but still decent. Trivium really don't have any weak releases.

Shogun sucks. Trivium doesn' tknow how to prog. In Waves is waaaay better. The Crusade also sucks ass. They peaked with Ascendancy.

I realize this is over 2 years after your shout, but I personally feel that with Shogun they upped the ante with their songwriting. You claim they "don't know how to prog", and while they certainly aren't a progressive metal band by any stretch, I think they made great strides with the songs on that album. Sure, the title track could be criticized for its structure & whatnot, but I still enjoy it even though it's not my favorite song on that album (that would have to be Kirisute Gomen which is a killer opener). I just think The Crusade receives WAY too much flak. It's definitely not my favorite Trivium album (that would be Ember to Inferno), but there's some really good songs on there to me. At the end of the day though, that's your opinion only, and I'm leaving it at that.
