Honor and Ash Walkthrough
Exit the Building
Following the events of From the Darkness, Jin will be held prisoner. However, with Kenji’s help, exit the building through the broken window.
Escape from Castle Shimura
Using the nearby ladder, climb on top of the building and head to the very end.
Jump to the slackline and follow it until you can’t go any further.
Jump down on top of the tent and head towards the building with the broken window.
Climb inside and escape through the window at the end of the building.
Once outside, head right of the tent and climb up the small stone wall.
As you near the wall, you will find a large gap - squeeze through it.
Reach your Horse in the Stables
Now that the guards are alerted to your escape, jump onto the roof of the building in front of you and continue onto the next one nearby.
At the end of the roof on the second building, you will find a slackline - follow it to the stables to avoid being seen.
Once you reach the stable, climb down the ladder and mount your horse. Having been spotted by a nearby Mongol, a cutscene will begin to play.
Push Forward to Reunite with Yuna
Following the events of the cutscene, push forward along the path to reunite with Yuna.
Reach the Sacred Tree without being Seen
As you near the Sacred Tree, you will spot Mongol forces patrolling the now burnt down village.
With no sign of Yuna, stick to your plan and start making your way towards the Sacred Tree in hopes that she has made it there safely.
TIP: Don't get spotted, as be seen during this sequence will result in you failing the mission.
Start making your way towards the Sacred Tree by heading towards the small cliff that overlooks the Kin Sanctuary on your left.
Jump down into the long grass and wait for the patrolling guards to pass. As they pass, head to the other side of the path and stay hidden within the long grass.
Towards your left, you will see a gap between two buildings - with an Archer standing outside of the furthest building.
When the coast is clear, sneak between the two buildings and climb through the broken window.
Head towards the northwest corner of the building and open the sliding door that is located next to the ladder.
Upon opening the door, climb through the broken window and make a break for the nearby long grass.
Sneak past the crouched Mongol and head for the large patch of long grass in front of the building.
Wait for the patrolling guard to away and cross over the large fallen tree in order to reach the Sacred Tree
Investigate the Area Further
With no sign of Yuna, investigate the area further by examining the bodies on the ground to trigger a cutscene.
Exit the Sacred Tree and follow the trail of dead bodies that lead down to the ground behind the tree - follow the waypoint marker or Wind should you become stuck.
As you examine the bodies on the path, a cutscene will play.
Retrieve your Gear
Having been saved by Yuna’s once again, collect your gear from the chest inside the room.
Meet Yuna Near the Lookout Tower
Once you’re geared, exit the building via the door in the next room and find Yuna by the lookout tower that is directly in front of the building.
TIP: Before meeting Yuna, you’ll find a Banner inside the empty stall of the stable.
Climb the Lookout Tower and Survey the Area
Upon speaking with Yuna, climb the lookout tower and survey the area for a new hideout.
Reach the Stables
With a new hideout found, head to the stables and get ready to ride out.
Ride With Yuna
Mount your new horse and follow Yuna to Jogaku’s Temple.
Head to the Frozen Lake
As you near the temple, dismount from your horse and follow Yuna by foot to the frozen lake.
Survey the Frozen Lake
Before going any further, survey the frozen lake to plan your attack.
Approach the Fishing Village
Approach the nearby Fishing Village and hide in the long grass to avoid being seen. Take out the two guards standing by the tent on the outskirts of the village.
Once defeated, climb on top of the snow covered building and use the slackline to reach the main building.
Defeat the four Mongols - an Archer, a Swordsmen, a Shieldsmen, and a Brute - in the area and then free the prisoners inside the building.
Review the Plan of Attack
Follow Yuna to the survey area just outside the building, and review your plan of attack.
You will have two points of interest to survey: the explosives left in the middle of the frozen lake, along with the Archers standing on the opposite side of the lake by the temple.
Set off the Signal Fireworks
After reviewing your approach, follow the waypoint back to the Signal Fireworks and set them off to draw the Archers attention from across the lake.
Return to Yuna
Having set off the fireworks, return to Yuna and prepare to attack.
Defeat the Mongols
When reaching Yuna, quickly aim for the barrels of explosive left in the middle of the lake. Fire your bow and arrow and take out as many Mongols as possible with the explosives.
Should you have any remaining Mongols, simply defeat them.
Scout the Grounds of Jogaku Temple
Follow the waypoint marker and scout the grounds surrounding the Jogaku Temple.
Find the Frozen Waterfall
Head towards the right side of the temple and look for the frozen waterfall.
Enter the Jogaku Temple
As you near the frozen waterfall, follow Yuna as she leads you inside the Jogaku Temple.
Defeat the Warlord and his Guards
As you reach the top of the waterfall, defeat the Warlord and his guards. You will encounter five Archers (Poison Arrows), three Swordsmen, three Shieldsmen, and Brute.
TIP: Try taking out the Archers first, as they will be equip with poison arrows.
Rescue the Hostages at the Temple
Once you have defeated the Mongol forces, rescue the hostages and speak with Yuna.
