Series; Twelve Months of Beauties, 1898
July: Bathing in the Sea - Charming image of women and children enjoying an afternoon at the seashore in the month of July. In the center, a kneeling woman gathers shells, collecting them in her overturned straw hat. A moth and daughter wade through the water, the woman wearing a striped bathing suit, her hair wrapped in a blue and white towel. At right, a young man sits on the beach, digging into a tobacco pouch to fill his pipe as waves lap against the sand. A large red sun sinks towards the horizon in the distance. A wonderful design detailed with fine bokashi shading and delicate embossing on the white cloth on the bench and the seated young boy's white print kimono.

Condition - Excellent color and detail. Backed with paper. A few tiny spots, vertical fold at side of margin.
