Liverpool go from one cup to another this weekend as they travel to the Championship’s bottom side Plymouth Argyle in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The reds travel to Home Park off the back of booking their spot at Wembley after dismantling Tottenham 4-0 in their second leg of the semi-final.
Plymouth have reached this stage after causing one of the biggest shocks of the previous round, where they knocked out Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, thanks to an 82nd minute winner from Morgan Whittaker, while Liverpool saw off League Two strugglers Accrington Stanley 4-0.
Plymouth Recent Form
So far it has been a campaign to forget for The Pilgrims, who currently sit bottom of the Championship and are four points from safety after just five wins in their first 30 games in the league. Star player Morgan Whittaker left the club for Middlesbrough for £6m in the January window, as well as exciting winger Ibrahim Cissoko, who joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan.
Since the appointment of their new manager, the Austrian Miron Muslic, the side has been through a rollercoaster of results. He has picked up 5 points out of his first 15 available, where despite losing 0-5 at home to Burnley, he has earned a late point away at highflyers Sunderland, and a late win vs West Brom in recent weeks.
Plymouth Team News
Plymouth don’t have much further concern in the injury department going into this weekend’s game. Former Everton defender Brandon Galloway is sidelined for the rest of the season with a hip injury after their 1-1 draw with Oxford, while full back Joe Edwards hasn’t fully recovered from a hamstring injury which has seen him ruled out since October.

Liverpool Recent Form
Arne Slot’s men continue to steamroll their way through their incredible season, thumping Spurs 4-0 in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final in midweek after losing the first leg 1-0. Their form in the league has not let up either.
Despite drawing away vs Nottingham Forest, three wins since sees the Reds sit pretty at the top of the league by six points, with that huge Merseyside Derby game in hand to come next week.
Liverpool Team News
Liverpool don’t have too many injuries to worry about going into this tie. Joe Gomez remains the only longer-term absentee after going off vs West Ham in late December. However, this game might come too soon for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was substituted in their 0-2 win vs Bournemouth, and he also missed the second leg victory vs Tottenham.
Liverpool Last XI
Here is how the side last lined up:
Plymouth Player to Watch - Ryan Hardie
The Scotsman played a crucial part in Plymouth’s last match, as he emerged from the bench on 71 minutes to score twice vs West Brom and give Argyle their first league win since November 5. The forward hasn’t been getting as many minutes as he would like, but with departures during the window, Hardie will find that now has never been better for him to prove himself.
Liverpool Player to Watch - Conor Bradley
Conor Bradley has proved more than suitable cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold when the Englishman isn’t available for selection, both last season and this campaign. The 21-year-old has been a regular feature in all cup competitions, notching an assist against Real Madrid in the Champions League as well as Tottenham in the second leg clash of the semi-final.
Prediction
