Curtis Granderson just set a new career-high by hitting his 31st home run of the season on Wednesday night. Granderson's previous career-high for homers in a season was 30 in 2009 with Detroit.
Fewest team games to 30 HR
Yankees teammates
Earlier in the evening, Granderson became the fifth Yankees center fielder in team history to hit 30 dingers in a season. Bernie Williams, Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio and Bobby Murcer are the others.
For Granderson, it is his third multi-homer game of the season and 10th of his career.
Earlier, Granderson and Mark Teixeira became the fifth-fastest pair of Yankees teammates to reach 30 homers. Granderson and Teixeira needed 115 games.
Mantle and Roger Maris needed just 84 games to accomplish the feat back in their record-breaking season of 1961.
