Know a high school student thriving in STEM? Nominate them for Future Leaders and a chance to receive a $1,000 award!
CBS Colorado is delighted to announce FUTURE LEADERS, an initiative to recognize Colorado high school students who are excelling in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics). We're inviting teachers, parents, mentors, and others to nominate students who they believe will be our future STEM leaders. Students are also able to self-nominate, but they will be required to include a letter of recommendation from a parent, teacher or other adult as part of their nomination.
A total of six students will be selected throughout the school year to receive this special recognition that will include a $1,000 award along with a student profile on CBS News Colorado. STEM studies may include, but are not limited to the fields of biology, chemistry, computer and information technology science, geosciences, life sciences, mathematical sciences, physics and astronomy, anthropology, ecology, economics, robotics, civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, astrophysics.
Nominations will be accepted until April 17, 2026.
