Despite losing the captain’s armband since Keith Hill’s arrival, midfield workhorse Jason Lowe has looked like a totally new player at Bolton Wanderers.
While the Leigh-bread midfielder was always a consistent player for Phil Parkinson last season, he’s really started to flourish in Keith Hill’s opening few matches in charge.
Partnered with the excellent Liam Bridcutt in the centre of the park, Lowe has had some of the defensive pressures lifted off his shoulders leaving the former Blackburn man free to roam forward and get involved in the attack.

Since joining Wanderers last summer, Jason Lowe has not enjoyed the best of times at Bolton but despite the horrendous condition of the club, has stuck with Wanderers and has found a new rich vein of form in Keith Hill’s first two home matches in charge.
Jason Lowe’s new-found lease of life was particularly evident in Wanderers’ games against Oxford and Sunderland with a thunderous shot against Oxford, in particular, forcing the goalkeeper into an excellent save.
Lowe has always been solid in midfield and it’s something that’s helping Keith Hill’s Wanderers win possession of the ball back quickly even if he, and others in the Bolton squad, have tired towards the end of recent games.

If Bolton and Jason Lowe can continue to improve in the same manner throughout the coming weeks and months ahead, Keith Hill’s Bolton side could be a real force to be reckoned with.
Discounting the result at Rotherham, Wanderers have looked like a dangerous outfit during Keith Hill’s brief reign as manager and with Liam Bridcutt only being at loan at Bolton until January, Jason Lowe could be a crucial figure as the season wears on.
Here’s hoping that Wanderers’ and Jason Lowe can continue to improve and finally earn that elusive first victory of the season.
