First-ever BMW M3 CS Touring debuts with family-fun 550 horses

Well, to be completely honest with you all, I’ve seen the G80 M3 and its M4 sibling enough times in-person that the ugly grille has now officially grown on me. I can’t yet say the same for other BMWs with ugly grilles, but for now, I’ve no issues with the looks of the M3. If you remember, the G80 M3 lineup received the M3 CS in early 2023, with more aggressive looks and significantly higher output figures. Well, now it’s time for the first-ever M3 CS Touring to join the lineup, with prices in Germany starting at €152,900 (including 19% VAT). Compared with the “regular” M3 Touring, the M3 CS Touring costs €45,700 more.

So then, what do you get for all those extra Euros? Well, for starters, you get more aggressive looks. The bodykit includes a CFRP bonnet, CFRP air inlets and front splitter, CFRP mirror caps, a kidney grille with optimized geometry for more air intake, and a CFRP rear diffuser. The roof spoiler has a red accent – similar to the red accent on the kidney grille. The car rides on a staggered setup of forged M light-alloy wheels measuring 19-inches at the front and 20-inches at the rear, and hiding behind the wheels are M Compound brakes with calipers painted in a choice of Red or Black. The M Carbon ceramic brakes are an optional extra, with calipers in Red or matt Gold.

The adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers comes standard. The setup is specifically tuned for the model, as is the M Servotronic steering. Exterior paint options for the M3 CS Touring include British Racing Green, Laguna Seca Blue, Frozen Solid White, and Sapphire Black metallic; the roof and spoiler however, are gonna be in gloss-black. LED headlights with yellow running lights are a standard affair.

The powertrain of the M3 CS Touring is exactly the same as that of the M3 CS. It’s a 3.0-litre straight-six twin-turbo motor that pumps out 405 kW (550 metric hp) at 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque from 2,750 to 5,950 rpm. Compared with the M3 Competition Touring, you get 15 kW (20 metric hp) more, thanks to—among other things—the turbos’ charge pressure increase to 2.1 bar. The engine is coupled with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with xDrive AWD system. The official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is 3.5 seconds, 0.1 seconds slower than the sedan sibling, while the top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h (186 mph).

Inside, things are gonna be the same as those of the sedan, including a 12.3-inch driver display, a 14.9-inch touchscreen, flat-bottom Alcantara steering wheel, M Carbon bucket seats, and of course, carbon fibre decorations.
