Tengoku-Daimakyo (2023)

What if heaven and hell exist? For Tokio, this is a question she has not dealt with – until now. Together with other children, she grows up in “heaven” behind secure walls, where she is raised and fed by robots.

Outside the walls is “hell”: a post-apocalyptic Japan full of monsters and other dangers. In this hell live Kiruko and Maru, two teenagers who are on a quest for heaven. To reach their goal, they cross the whole country looking for clues. On their journey, they encounter other survivors who are not always friendly to them, as well as gruesome monsters that could spring from their nightmares.

One day, Tokio receives a strange message that will destroy the balance of both worlds forever. It is the beginning of a fantastic adventure for the children.

Was wäre, wenn Himmel und Hölle existieren würden? Für Tokio eine Frage, mit der sie sich noch nicht beschäftigt hat – bis jetzt. Zusammen mit anderen Kindern wächst sie im »Himmel« hinter sicheren Mauern auf, wo sie von Robotern aufgezogen und ernährt wird.

Draußen, außerhalb der Mauern, befindet sich die »Hölle«: ein postapokalyptisches Japan, das voller Monster und anderer Gefahren ist. In dieser Hölle leben Kiruko und Maru, zwei Jugendliche, die auf der Suche nach dem Himmel sind. Um ihr Ziel zu erreichen, durchqueren sie das ganze Land nach Hinweisen. Auf ihrer Reise begegnen sie anderen Überlebenden, die ihnen nicht immer freundlich gesinnt sind, sowie grauenhaften Monstern, die ihren Albträumen entspringen könnten.

Eines Tages bekommt Tokio eine merkwürdige Nachricht, die das Gleichgewicht beider Welten für immer zerstören wird. Es ist der Beginn eines fantastischen Abenteuers für die Kinder.
