Links (2014)

“Links” deals with the love lives of four different couples who all live in the same area and know each other or get to know each other in the course of the story.

Masahito Sekiya works as a radio presenter but is silent outside of work and avoids any kind of social contact. One day, however, a fan of his radio show recognises him by his voice and, from then on, completely upsets his emotional world. Akiha Niitsu is still suffering from the tragic end of his first love and therefore neglects his current relationship. At the same time, the romance for Aoi Kameda only begins when, one rainy day, he finds an abandoned cat as well as a drunken man next to it on the street and decides to take them both in. And finally, it’s also about Shinobu Nakajo and Takaaki Sado, who have been a couple since high school, but whose happiness is still marred by the accidental death of Takaaki’s older brother all these years later.

»Links« behandelt das Liebesleben von vier verschiedenen Paaren, die alle in der gleichen Gegend wohnen und sich untereinander kennen bzw. sich im Verlauf der Geschichte kennenlernen.

Masahito Sekiya arbeitet als Moderator beim Radio, ist außerhalb der Arbeit aber schweigsam und meidet soziale Kontakte. Eines Tages erkennt ihn jedoch ein Fan seiner Radio-Show anhand seiner Stimme und bringt seine Gefühlswelt von da an vollkommen durcheinander. Akiha Niitsu leidet noch immer unter dem tragischen Ende seiner ersten Liebe und vernachlässigt deswegen seine momentane Beziehung, während für Aoi Kameda seine Romanze erst beginnt, als er eines verregneten Tages eine ausgesetzte Katze und einen betrunkenen Mann neben ihr auf der Straße findet und beide bei sich aufnimmt. Und schließlich geht es auch um Shinobu Nakajo und Takaaki Sado, die bereits seit der Oberschule ein Paar sind, deren Glück jedoch auch nach all den Jahren noch immer von dem Unfalltod von Takaakis älterem Bruder getrübt wird.
