Photonics Ireland 2025
The biannual Photonics Ireland Conference took place on Wednesday 3rd to Friday 5th September 2025 in Radisson, Little Island, Cork.
The conference was attended by over 200 delegates and was organised by Irish Photonic Integration Centre, Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork and Research Ireland. Keynote speakers at the event included Kei May Lau (HKUST), Brian Pogue (Dartmouth College) and Aaron M Lowe, PhD (Meta). There was also an industry session with talks given by Causeway Sensors Limited, FotoNation, Aegiq and Seagate Technology
Staff from the School of Physics, including Dr. Bryan Kelleher, Dr. Andreas Ruschhaupt, Dr. Christopher Broderick, Dr. Stefan Schulz, Dr. Robert Sheehan, Prof. Frank Peters and Prof. Andy Ruth presented their latest photonics research results.
Several UCC Physics students gave talks or presented posters, including Aisling Power, Barry Lynch, Neil O'Connor, Rubén Santana Alonso, Dáire Hannon, Órla McElhatton, Odhran Liston, Jordan Walsh, Diarmuid O'Sullivan, Séan O'Donoghue, Paul Wills and Jarni Braal.
