Rebecca Onion Slate Netflix’s first Canadian original series is doing something totally new. Apr 21, 2025 Full Review Roxana Hadadi New York Magazine/Vulture With its mix of Indigenous cultural specificity, a winning coming-of-age story, and a charming ensemble, North of North is delightfully bingeable. Apr 15, 2025 Full Review Angie Han The Hollywood Reporter North of North is unassuming in its humor, only occasionally provoking full-on belly laughs or delivering memorably quotable lines. But I found, as I kept watching, that what was near-constant was the smile on my face. Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba North of North is the antidote we didn’t know we needed, a brief, joyful respite not just from the grim news cycle but also from the intensity of most streaming TV. Apr 18, 2025 Full Review Kate Sánchez But Why Tho? A Geek Community North of North uses a typical sitcom format, and it thrives because of it. This is a Native sitcom with a universal story. Apr 18, 2025 Full Review Cristina Escobar LatinaMedia.Co With this strong cast and rarely platformed perspective, "North of North" is able to show the joy, the ridiculousness, and injustices present in modern, Inuk communities. shehlla k Loved this show! Something different and very original. I really hope they come out with another season. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/22/25 Full Review Sandra A This show celebrates seal hunting. They shoot the seals through the head with sniper rifles and this is considered a Fun Hunt. I got only as far as the first kill near the end of Episode one. Right after he shoots the seal, the main character falls into the lake - and that's supposed to be hilarious. I'm glad to see it is not on a most watched list in Netflix despite the critics rating. What are the critics thinking? You think we want to see animals slaughtered? Other than that - I was not really enjoying it. I found the main character annoying and her problem was not as sympathetic as it should have been. She has plenty of money but wants a job for herself to feel important. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/23/25 Full Review Audience Member I absolutely loved this lighthearted, quirky and funny show. I tuned in to see Jay Ryan but I enjoyed so many of the other characters on the show. I appreciated the focus on family and community so much. I really hope they bring it back for many more seasons! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/22/25 Full Review Jitka B North of North is a fresh comedy series set in a small Arctic town that immediately draws you in. It features great performances, especially from Anna Lambe in the lead role, and a unique setting that feels both authentic and visually striking. The show is funny but also touches on deeper themes like family and self-discovery. A perfect pick if you're looking for something entertaining with heart. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/21/25 Full Review Audience Member While I love and appreciate this show so much for bringing light and giving exposure to a very unique and admirable Culture of people who are very close to my Ancestors; I literally cannot understand why a white American woman ("Helen") plays the role of someone in charge and overseeing the Cultural festivities of this Community. While scolding Siaja about who she is, is not and her lack of capabilities in HER own culture of people, that Helen clearly has no lineage to. . Disrespectful much? Siaja being a multi-racial woman doesn't allow for Helen to play the role that she's playing in this show. I truly think this show could have done well without White America (I will leave that there), as I am not trying to be mean but provide a valid opinion I'm sure many are thinking. Exhausting. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/25 Full Review lia z such a strong female lead, i love this show. 10/10 i hope it get another season Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/20/25 Full Review Read all reviews
