St. Patrick’s Day Parade brings out the green
The annual event featured decorated cars and trucks, youth marchers and decked-out celebrants.
Onlookers clad in green scrambled for candy and celebrated community organizations Monday during the Sweeney’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Hosted by the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, the event began at Parker Park and followed a route along Fireweed Street and Redoubt Avenue before ending near the Kenai Spur Highway in Soldotna.
The annual caravan — which has been celebrated for three decades — featured decorated cars and trucks, youth marchers and decked-out celebrants, both human and animal. Participants included Soldotna youth sports teams, high school musicians, local businesses, churches and equestrians, among others.
