Susana Polo is a senior entertainment writer at Polygon, with a primary expertise in comic books and a diverse body of work across all other facets of pop culture and genre fare, from The Lord of the Rings and Dune to Batman and Star Trek. She regularly heads up Polygon’s coverage of the Marvel and DC film universes, as well as splashy projects like the Horse Girl Canon, and Year of the Ring, where she also edited the Year of the Ring book.
She began her career at Abrams Media, where she founded The Mary Sue in 2011, and moved to Polygon in 2015 to help the site expand its coverage from the world of video games to all entertainment. Susana regularly speaks about comics, pop culture, and fandom and their intersections with queerness, race, and feminism at venues like San Diego Comic-Con, New York Comic Con, WorldCon, and the Brooklyn Historical Society, as well as for broadcasters like NPR and the BBC.
