No more catch and early release of violent repeat offenders
Last year, the legislature passed, and I signed Death by Delivery, which charges fentanyl dealers with murder if the drugs they traffic cause a fatal overdose. And we came together again to pass the Protect Act. No more catch and early release of
violent repeat offenders. In Arkansas, we will keep the most dangerous criminals off our streets. We're paving the way to build a new, 3,000-bed prison. And we've opened up 1,000 beds in our existing capacity to take pressure off local jails.

Dems want to defund the police, increasing crime
After years of Democrat attacks on law enforcement and calls to `defund the police`, violent criminals roam free, while law-abiding families live in fear.
As a mom, my heart breaks for every parent who has lost a son or daughter to addiction.

To remain free we must have law and order
I was the first White House Press Secretary to require Secret Service protection because of a credible violent threat against me. We've seen violence in our streets, at a congressional baseball practice, and at our Capitol, this is not who we are as
Americans. To remain free we must have law and order and resolve our differences peacefully. I will stand with our brave law enforcement officers, promote law and order, and keep our community safe.

God unconditionally loves and forgives convicted criminals
Arkansas allows inmates to earn work opportunities: the most highly coveted jobs were at the governor's mansion. The dozen or so "trustees" assigned to the mansion maintained the gardens, worked events, & helped me perfect my free throw.
Most parents
wouldn't like their teenage daughter playing basketball with convicted murderers. But the men selected for this program had already served decades of their life sentences and consistently showed good behavior. Besides, there were always plenty of state
troopers around.
It would have been much easier for my parents to play it safe and stay away from the trustees, but I'm glad they didn't. They wanted us to understand that God unconditionally loves and forgives us and that nobody is unworthy of our
compassion or beyond the redemptive power of God's grace.
Growing up around the trustees taught me a life changing lesson about grace. I have since made a point to focus on people's good qualities & not dwell too much on their flaws; we all have them.
