NEW YORK — FilmFour has optioned the Alice Sebold novel “The Lovely Bones” and attached Luc Besson and Aimee Peyronnet’s Seaside as producers.
Book represents a challenging adaptation. It’s a story narrated by a 14-year-old girl who has been murdered by a neighbor, but gets her wish to watch over and influence the lives of the family members she left behind. The novel will be published late next year by Little, Brown.
William Morris’ Bill Contardi made the deal with lit agent Henry Dunow. With lit agent Laura Langlie, Contardi recently sold Meg Cabot’s “The Princess Diaries,” which has been greenlit as a Walt Disney Pictures effort with Garry Marshall directing.
