Holly is a midwife with experience working in all areas of the maternity service, including clinical research. Holly continues to provide clinical care to patients within the community setting, alongside her university role. She is also a qualified professional midwifery advocate, NIPE practitioner and mental health first aider!
Holly graduated from the University of West of Scotland with BSc certification in Midwifery and has developed her knowledge and skills through working in all areas of the Maternity service, including working as a core midwife on labour ward, in inpatient areas, in outpatient clinics and within community settings, as well as assisting several homebirths. She has also expanded her knowledge through completing a MSc in Midwifery, and during the covid-19 pandemic advanced her skills through research and supporting the set-up and clinical establishment of a Monoclonal antibody clinic within her local trust.
As Holly has developed as Midwife, she has come to realise the incredible public health opportunities Midwives have and feels strongly about promoting female health and helping reduce the stigma associated! She has also pioneered The Blossoming Midwife Podcast on Spotify to support the education of the public globally!
On her days off, Holly is a dedicated rugby player and loves pushing her body to the limits with fitness goals! She has a wee dachshund called Cookie and loves to live by the moto- 'work hard, play hard!'
