Andrew M. Penner is Professor of Sociology and the founding director of the Center for Administrative Data Analysis at the University of California, Irvine. Much of Penner's recent work seeks to build administrative data infrastructure and work with partners to conduct research that can inform policy and practice. Penner's work has been supported by the NIH, NSF, IES, and wide range of foundations; been published in Nature, Science, PNAS, and a range of disciplinary journals; and been covered in outlets including the New York Times, Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal. Penner received a PhD in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and has been a National Academy of Education Postdoctoral Fellow and a Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences.
