Veda Vaidyanathan

Veda is an Associate at the Harvard University Asia Centre. She examines Asian engagement in Africa from the grassroots, across multiple sectors and countries to produce evidence-based research. These include financial services, mining, agriculture, infrastructure, and manufacturing in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Ghana. She was a 2022-23 Fung Global Fellow at the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies at Princeton University.

Veda curates 'The Africa-India Global Dialogue Series', a webinar co-hosted with the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD). She has contributed book chapters published by Routledge in London, World Society Foundation in Zurich, her analysis and Op-Ed's have been published in The Indian Express, The Washington Post, The Hindu, Nikkei Asia, The Diplomat, The Hindustan Times, African Arguments and the South African Journal of International Affairs.

She has lectured at universities around the world including Australian National University, Addis Ababa University, Peking University, Boston College, and Jawaharlal Nehru University. Veda has presented findings in various global conferences and was part of the Indian delegation to the 17th Russia-India-China (RIC) academic trilateral in Beijing.
