We are enjoying a late New Year holiday with my husband and our family of four in Toba while visiting Ise Shrine. During this time, we discovered a Yakiniku restaurant run by a chatty owner (laughs). Initially, we planned to go to Matsusaka to taste Matsusaka beef, but after visiting Ise Shrine and strolling around Okage Yokocho, we were too tired and opted for some nearby meat for our first visit. Kalbi... While it looks great with nice marbling, the meat flavor was a bit lacking. Liver... I forgot to take a photo, but it was fresh and sweet. We enjoyed it rare. Horumon... Sweet, juicy, and full of fat but not greasy at all — very delicious. Sliced Omasum... Compared to my favorite local Yakiniku place, this was softer and tastier! The dipping sauce had a strong miso flavor without being too sour, which was great. Tetchan... A usual tasty dish. Minou... My local Yakiniku place wins in this category. Grilled Tongue... Just okay (laughs). Yukke... Extremely delicious! The large pieces of meat were well marbled and the fat almost repelled the sauce, in a good way. Raw Tongue... This was my first time trying it, and it was fantastic! I could eat as many plates as I want (っ˘ڡ˘ς). Rice... This was made from carefully selected Iga rice, sweet but I prefer it a bit more on the moist side when cooked. In addition to that, we ordered soup, bibimbap, and drinks, and had refills on Yukke, sliced Omasum, and sliced tongue. Although we were quite full, the bill surprised us by being low Σ( ˙꒳˙ ). Great value for money. It goes beyond just being excellent — it’s unbeatable (laughs)! Anyway, the raw meat was delicious! Too delicious!! Overall, the sauce was a sweet miso variation not commonly found in Kanto. As a downside, there was a bit too little dipping sauce, so I'd love for them to keep some stocked on the table or offer refills. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who love raw meat and can keep up with the owner's friendly chat ⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝. I will definitely return when I come back here (*^^*).
