"Ichiryu Kama" Chinese Cantonese cuisine cooked in the world's only custom-made kettle
A variety of dishes made with carefully selected ingredients by a chef who honed his skills at a luxury hotel! We offer authentic cuisine at more reasonable prices than anywhere else so that everyone |
I discovered this place while searching for a dog-friendly restaurant nearby, and after checking it out during a late-night stroll, I found the exterior quite appealing, so I decided to give it a try. The owner, who had a charming personality, gave me a long list of recommendations when I asked for her favorites, saying "Everything, ha ha!" So I chose a few notable dishes. We managed to finish four dishes between the two of us, but each dish was quite substantial, making us very full. I wished we had just gotten either the chashu or the gyoza and saved room for dessert. **Mapo Tofu ★★★** The mapo tofu had a punchy flavor with a good amount of Sichuan pepper. It was served in a stone pot heated with solid fuel, allowing us to enjoy it hot throughout the meal. The spice level was just right for me this time, but I could easily handle a notch spicier next time. **Hot and Sour Noodle Soup ★★** This dish was rich but not overwhelmingly so, and it was quite tasty. Depending on your preference, I found that adding some vinegar made it just right for my taste. I rated it ★★, but I could also see giving it ★★★. **Pan-Fried Gyoza ★★★** The gyoza had thicker, chewy wrappers and were deliciously juicy, almost like soup dumplings. Each was sizable and packed with flavor, making them quite filling. **Homemade Chashu ★★** It had a slightly sweet taste, which I enjoyed. The portion was quite generous, so I felt it could stand on its own as a proper meat dish rather than just an appetizer. I wonder if they offer half portions on the menu? Dogs are allowed only in the terrace area. However, there are seats next to the sliding door where humans can dine inside while the dog can sit just outside—a unique setup! Although the restaurant is located along the street, the large sign and plastic curtains provided privacy and a nice atmosphere to relax without worrying about onlookers or the wind. The terrace area is designated for smoking, so it's best to call ahead if you're bringing a dog. The food was delicious and filling, so I will definitely be back!
