A donut shop that is committed to ethical practices and organic ingredients has been designed by Kengo Kuma to create a soft and inviting space. The dome-shaped ceiling is adorned with 572 traditional bamboo baskets made using the six-way weave technique, crafted from bamboo from Arashiyama. The gentle lighting that filters through the basket's mesh creates shadows and a soothing atmosphere. While it serves as a retail space, the interior also functions as a kitchen where donuts are made, reviving Kyoto's delicate yet resilient culinary culture.
