A Hidden Sushi Gem in Kanazawa City: Enjoy Unique Fish You Can't Find Anywhere Else! Come Check Us Out!
Located just a 3-minute walk from Morimoto Station, our sushi shop has been serving customers for 46 years. It's easy to dine alone, and you can enjoy a variety of fish, including shrimp and tuna comp |
Only two stations away from Kanazawa Station towards Toyama, it's a 5-minute walk from Morimoto Station! Lunch is available from 11:30 to 13:30, and I arrived at 13:20. There was one couple dining when I got there! The lunch courses range from JPY 1000 up to JPY 4000. Since I was feeling adventurous, I opted for the JPY 4000 course! This sushi restaurant focuses more on tuna and seafood rather than a wide variety of toppings. The JPY 4000 course starts off with an impressive 5 types of tuna! It begins with natural tuna and includes farmed fatty tuna, with parts like the brain, chutoro, and flame-seared kamatoro. You won't believe how delicious tuna can be! The richness and sweetness are concentrated, and both the toppings and rice are superbly generous! After some sea bream and yellowtail, the gunkan (battleship sushi) features red clam and crab. Next up is a trio of shrimp! When you think of Kanazawa, you think of "Gas Shrimp", which is sweet and rich. And then there’s the legendary "Oni Ebi" (demon shrimp)! Its sweetness and sticky texture are irresistible, making the sweet shrimp feel ordinary in comparison. The negitoro roll (minced tuna with green onions) is incredibly delicious. The supermarket version is just not the same. It's rich and flavorful! This is truly exquisite. To top it all off are the special desserts made by the owner. It feels like selecting your favorite flavors in a spring ice cream championship! Some may think JPY 4000 sounds steep, but once you taste it, you’ll understand! You have to try to appreciate these chiseled masterpieces. The head chef and the owner are very friendly, joking around with another couple while occasionally dropping cheeky banter! The toppings are top-notch—and the humor is just as good! ☺️ I dined solo, but I imagine it would be a fantastic experience to take a date here during lunchtime. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
