A Dreamy Experience
Local yet hard to reserve, Otome Zushi is a special place. Reservations can be made up to a year in advance starting on the 1st of each month, but weekends fill up quickly. I had to cancel my last reservation due to work, so it has been a while since my last visit. Unlike during the COVID pandemic, there are no plastic partitions, and it’s nice to see the dapper chef without a mask. My expectations are at MAX as usual. I first recommend having the chilled sake that’s perfect for this season. I was suggested Sogen, but the sake brewery has been through tough times due to the earthquakes and heavy rains, so this precious chilled sake is a rare find. I drink it with gratitude and prayers for recovery. I started with the flounder sashimi, which was absolutely delicious. It never disappoints from the very first bite. As you can see in the photo, there’s a lovely selection, but I forgot to take a picture of the ikura (salmon roe) because it was so good. Wrapped in slightly warmed nori (seaweed), it was heavenly—enough to keep drinking all night. I always feel that once we start the nigiri, we are in the final stretch. Of course, the anticipation continues to grow, but there’s a bittersweet feeling as my dream time draws to a close. I savor the remaining moments while enjoying the finest selection. When I received the Noto mozuku seaweed miso soup, I knew it was time to finish with my favorite anago (broiled eel) that I always have to end with. It feels like the end of a dream. However, I make a reservation on my way out, looking forward to the next visit. Thank you for another wonderful time today. And may the people of Noto return to their normal lives as soon as possible.

半年以上前に予約をし、やっと土曜日夜の訪問が実現。お昼ご飯を抜き万全の状態で訪問です。
いつ来ても入店前のワクワク感がたまりません。
18時半開始のちょっと前に到着。店の中は前の方の精算、片付けで大忙し。
やがて時間になり、個室とカウンター3組7名同時スタートです。
他の方には、ダンディな大将が優しく握り前につまむか確認されていましたが、うちは必ずつまむので聞かれませんでした(笑)
乙女さんは、握りはもちろん最高ですが、つまみにも毎回感動し、そして驚かされます。
予約がとれた方は是非つまんでください。
この日も、ひらめのお造りから始まり、赤イカ糸造り、メジマグロ、鯵、ガスエビの盛合せと最高のお刺身が続きます。赤イカいつもならゆっくり楽しむのに美味し過ぎてあっという間に完食(おかわりしたかったぁ)。
でもまだ夢の時間は続きます。
海苔箱で軽く温められた海苔に函館のムラサキ雲丹を乗せて頂きます。思わず最高を噛み締めました。
ここで日本酒は3合目。珠洲市宗玄酒造の そっ を初めて頂きました。能登のお酒がこうして頂ける事に心から感謝し、そして人の強さが胸を打ちます。
続いて蛤の茶碗蒸、今シーズン最後の加能ガニが登場。目の前ではとらふぐ白子も焼きの準備に入っています。
今までの訪問でも感動ツートップのとらふぐ白子と蟹。嬉し過ぎです。
当然どちらも言わずもがなの美味さ。この時間が永遠に続いて欲しいと願わずにはいられません。
更に高級魚キンキの焼き物とホタルイカ沖漬けが追い打ちをかけます。
ここでつまみは終了。このあたりで握りへの期待と終わりが近付く寂しさで複雑な感情に襲われます。
さぁ握りです。
この日頂いたのは、
甘海老、あら、トロ、コハダ、鯛の昆布締め、
のどぐろ、バイ貝、馬糞雲丹、ここでお味噌汁が供されます。出汁が上品で心に染みます。
最後にトロ鉄火、鰻でフィニッシュです。
握りは全て最高の仕事が施されていて、塩も醤油もつける必要がありません。
目の前でフッと沈むシャリが最高のエアリー感を物語っており、選びぬかれたネタとの相性は言う事ありません。
やはり毎回終わってしまった寂しさが湧きますが、
いつまでも残る感動を胸に帰路に着きました。
