During the holiday, I left the Sapporo area and ventured towards Tokachi to take photos of the Pokémon manhole covers. I stopped for lunch and made my way to the Michi no Eki in Honbetsu for my photo session. It seemed quite crowded, likely due to the holiday. After finishing my photos, I thought I'd explore the Michi no Eki since I was already there. As I looked around, I found a section selling souvenirs. True to its reputation as a city of beans, there was a variety of bean-based products on display. Among them, I discovered the soft serve ice cream being sold. Craving something cold, I checked it out and found the bean×bean soft serve ice cream, featuring local beans as its specialty. I just had to try it, so I made a purchase. The bean×bean soft serve ice cream has sweet azuki bean candies mixed in, topped with sweet chestnut candies, creating an indulgent treat filled with beans. The soft serve itself is quite sweet but not overwhelmingly so, and the azuki bean candies contribute a refined sweetness, along with a delightful texture and aroma. The chestnut candy topping offers a rich, intense flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. This delicious soft serve packed with beans has made me want to return for another taste whenever I get the chance. It was a great meal!
